What's New in Cop Squad v.1.46
-------------------------------
* Version 1.43 was accidentally released with beta team protection code in
it. It will not run as a shareware release. To avoid confusion I have
released the shareware version with this release...as version 1.44 .
* Bug fixed (v.1.44a) which would cause the game to quit if a player tried
to file more than one complaint in succession.
* Added a "message notification" event where a Service Aid will tell you
you have a message when a message is present or if it is left in a multi-
node environment.
Changes made in version 1.43
-------------------------------
* Fixed a bug which popped up in 1.42 which would not reset the player
properly when they won the game. This bug was not present in versions
prior to 1.42.
* Created an option in COPUTILS to enable a sysop to disable the player's
ability to use aliases. This was requested by numerous sysops.
* Wrote a maintenance program which basically does the same thing as running
SQUAD.EXE (i.e., create maint.dat, delete users if requested, run the
payroll module on Fridays, etc.). In the past if someone didn't play the
game on Fridays, NO ONE got paid that week. I tried to stay away from a
separate "maintenance" program but at this time find it necessary to do so.
Simply place the COPMAINT.EXE command line in your nightly maintenance
event. The program requires a parameter, the .cfg file you use to play
the game. Therefore it will look like this example :
COPMAINT.EXE SQUAD.CFG
Note that if you are running multi-line and have several .cfg files, you
need only to specify one of them (i.e., SQUAD1.CFG) on the command line.
This maintenance option (COPMAINT.EXE) was requested by sysops mostly so
that the payroll module would be run whether or not someone played the game
on a Friday. If you do not run COPMAINT.EXE, the internal maintenance
option in the SQUAD.EXE program will take over as it has in the past.
* Fixed the "Current Players & Scores" selection in the Main Startup Menu
so that it reflects the actual non-deleted and non-twitted players. It
previously showed all players.
* Fixed the "Write to another player" option in the Briefing Room so it will
only show the active (i.e., non-deleted and/or non-twitted) players. No
message can be left for deleted or "twitted" players.
* Fixed the "Transfer Money to Another Player" option in the Credit Union so
it will only show the active (i.e., non-deleted and/or non-twitted) players.
No monies can be transferred to deleted or "twitted" players.
* Fixed the "File a Complaint against another player" option in the Watch
Commander's Office so it will only show the active (i.e., non-deleted
and/or non-twitted) players. No complaints can be filed against deleted or
"twitted" players.
